RANCHI, June 11 -- When the Congress began protesting outside the Assembly demanding the cancellation of the nomination papers of NDA-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani, the BJP hastily mobilized its workers to reach the Assembly premises. At around 10 am, hundreds of leaders-including Congress State President Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, former State President Rajesh Thakur, and Minister Deepika Pandey Singh-arrived at the Assembly. They initially protested on the road outside before staging a sit-in at the Assembly portico. After the BJP workers arrived, Gate No. 2 of the Assembly was closed to prevent a direct confrontation between Congress and BJP cadres. Subsequently, the BJP workers staged a sit-in right outside Gate No. 2. They raised slogans against leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Hemant Soren. After being stopped at Gate No. 2, BJP Mahila Morcha leader Seema Singh, BJYM Ranchi President Romit Narayan, Dharmveer Singh, and Piyush Vijayvargiya managed to enter the Assembly premises. Security personnel attempted to stop them, leading to a confrontation between the BJP leaders and the security staff. The BJP members argued that if Congress workers were allowed to sit in the Assembly portico, they could not be barred from doing so. Seema Singh demanded that the Congress workers also be removed from the portico. Subsequently, despite opposition from security personnel, four BJP workers managed to reach the portico. At the time, Congress workers-including Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, former state president Rajesh Thakur, Shashi Bhushan Rai, Vinay Sinha 'Deepu', and Congress leader Rama Khalkho-were staging a protest in the Assembly portico. BJP members Seema Singh, Romit Narayan, Dharmveer Singh, and Piyush Vijayvargiya sat on the ground right in front of the Congress members and began raising slogans. While the Congress members raised slogans like "Vote Chor Gaddi Chhor," the four BJP members seated opposite them raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi with equal fervor. The four BJP workers remained seated and continued chanting slogans in front of the Congress workers for nearly an hour and a half.
