Harjot Kaur Bamhrah gets addl charge as BPSC chairman
PATNA, Sept. 17 -- The Bihar government on Wednesday assigned the additional charge of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) chairperson to senior IAS officer Harjot Kaur Bamhrah following the regular incumbent's leave of absence.
A notification by the general administration department says that Ravi Manubhai Parmar, serving chairperson of the commission, has been granted 25 days of earned leave from September 15 to October 9, 2026.
During this period, the additional charge of the BPSC chairperson's post has been assigned to Bamhrah, a 1992-batch IAS officer who currently serves as chairperson and a member of the revenue board, Bihar. The arrangement is temporary and is intended to ensure that the commission's day-to-day functioning, examination schedules, evaluation work and selection processes, continues without interruption.
