PATNA, April 13 -- Governor Lt Gen (Rtd) Syed Aata Hasnain, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha along with leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav condoled the death of eminent playback singer Asha Bhosle on Sunday. Expressing expressed grief over the death of the eminent singer, the Governor said that Bhosle's was a iconic playback singer who enjoyed huge popularity and her contribution in the field of culture and music would always be remembered. The Governor said the demise of Bhosle was not only sad but an irreparable loss for the country. In his condolence message, the chief minister too expressed grief over the demise of Bhosle and said that coming generations would remember the iconic playback singer as a symbol of Indian culture whose mellifluous voice always captivated people. The CM said the death of Bhosle was end of an era of Indian music and an irreparable loss for the country. The CM has prayed to God for giving peace to the departed soul and also give strength to the family of the deceased legendary singer to maintain calm at this time of grief. Asha Bhosle died at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday at the age of 92. She was admitted to the medical establishment on Saturday evening due to 'chest infection and exhaustion'. "The world of melody is in grief today. The passing of the legendary singer marks not just the departure of an artiste, but heralds the end of an era. Her voice filled the hearts of generations with different shades of emotions, rendering every song of hers immortal," deputy CM, Samrat Choudhary wrote in an X post. May God grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to her loved ones to bear this immense sorrow, he added. Deputy CM, Vijay Kumar Sinha, in a social media post, said, "The news of Asha Bhosle ji's demise is extremely heartbreaking and soul-wrenching. With her sweet and melodious voice, she left a profound mark not only on the hearts of music lovers in the country but across the world. Her contribution to the Indian music world will forever remain unforgettable." Yadav described the singer's demise as an irreparable loss to the music world. "Her passing has caused an irreparable loss to the music world. I express my deepest condolences to her family members and pray to God for the peace of her soul," he told reporters here. RJD's national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Sunday expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to the iconic artist and veteran singer Asha Bhosle on the demise of legendary singer Asha Bhosle.
