PATNA, Sept. 11 -- Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday distributed financial aid of Rs.1100 each as social security pension to 10.568 million beneficiaries through direct benefit transfer to their bank accounts, amounting to Rs.1,233.87 crore.1 The scheme has a new addition of 98,896 beneficiaries. He was speaking at a function at Haveli Khadagpur in Munger. The CM also laid the foundation stone for the widening of a 10-km stretch of National Highway - 333. Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary said that the government was working for all sections of the society without distinction and the social security pension is a pension in that direction. "We have decided that, the money should reach the beneficiaries by 10th of every month and all eligible persons would avail the benefit irrespective of caste or creed," he added. He said that Bihar was also trying for proper water management. "Recently a long pending agreement was signed with Jharkhand efforts were on to protect Bihar's interests in the Farakka Treaty " he added.The CM said better management of water resources is necessary in the interest of Bihar and highlighted the need to resolve the issue of silt accumulation in the Ganga River up to Farakka Barrage. The CM said that massive relief operations were under away in the state in view of the devastating flood, which has affected around 40-lakh population spread across 13 districts. Choudhary also said the state government is also working towards developing the Munger-Jamui forest area under a project worth around Rs 150 crore. He said the Bhim Bandh area would be developed and beautified, with facilities such as trekking routes and hotels to attract tourists from across the country and abroad. He further informed that court facilities in Tarapur and Haveli Kharagpur would begin this month. The chief minister said health check-up campaigns are being conducted across Bihar from September 1 to November 30, under which around 6.5 crore people will be screened. He added that treatment facilities would also be arranged after the health check-ups. He also said that the 'Seva Sankalp Kayakalp Abhiyan' would begin from September 17 to improve infrastructure in schools and provide toilets in schools and Anganwadi centres where such facilities are unavailable....
