CHENNAI, April 19 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal Leader Tejashwi Yadav who arrived in Coimbatore on Saturday flayed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre stating they just brought the Women's Reservation Bill to show that they are no in favour of women and the Opposition was not. Yadav who arrived in Coimbatore to take part in a campaign led by DMK President M K Stalin said the Saffron party was aware that they would not be able to pass the Bill as they did not have two-third of the majority which is required to pass the bill. "The Women's Reservation Bill has already been passed since 2023. Amid the elections in five states, the Modi government is reintroducing it as a political farce drama and propaganda." he said. Talking to reporters, he said, "The (Women's Reservation) Bill was already passed before (in 2023). Central government at that time stated they would implement it in 2034. This Delimitation is different issue." Demanding that Caste census be taken up, he said, "We want 2025 census. We want reservation also. Since 2011-2025, automatically the population has increased, that means OBCs, SCs, STc their population must have increased."...
