PATNA, Sept. 26 -- With Bihar director general of police (DGP) Vinay Kumar going on leave, speculations are rife that the 1991 batch IPS officer may soon become new state chief information commissioner (CIC) of Bihar. The post of state CIC in the Bihar Information Commission is vacant at present. A meeting was held in this regard on Friday chaired by CM Samrat Choudhary in which deputy CM Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and LoP Tejashwi Prasad Yadav were present to approve the names of the new state CIC and information commissioner, said people close to the development. A formal notification is yet to be issued in this regard. DGP Kumar has gone on leave from September 15 till October 5 for personal reasons. DG-cum-commandant general, home guard and fire service Preeta Verma was given charge of DGP, Bihar. At present, there are two state information commissioners in Bihar, Prakash Singh and Brijesh Mehrohta, a retired IAS officer. DGP Kumar is set to retire on December 13 this year....
