wangchuk digs in, announces continuation of hunger strike
New Delhi, July 21 -- Activist Sonam Wangchuk on Monday said he would continue his indefinite hunger strike, which entered its 23rd day, until "youth leaders" are allowed to meet MPs or parliamentarians visit him at the hospital.
In a handwritten note shared on Instagram, Wangchuk said peaceful protesters were subjected to "brutality" and appealed to the government and police to facilitate dialogue.
"Seeing the brutality with which peacefully protesting youth are being dealt with, I have decided to continue my fast until the youth leaders are allowed to meet the parliamentarians at Sansad Bhawan or the parliamentarians are allowed to meet me here at the hospital," he said. P7...
