Vasai judge's wife duped of Rs.1.85 lakh by cyber frauds
MUMBAI, June 1 -- A case of cyber fraud has been registered after the wife of a magistrate court judge in Vasai was allegedly cheated of Rs.1.85 lakh through an online scam.
According to the police, the victim, Sujata Hemant Satbhai, received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number on Friday. The caller allegedly posed as a bank official and spoke aggressively while convincing her to carry out certain steps on Google Pay. Police said the caller instructed Satbhai to enter a so-called "Inter Amount Offer" code to authenticate her customer service number. Before she could realise what had happened, Rs.1.85 lakh had allegedly been transferred from her bank account to an unknown account.
Satbhai later approached the police and lodged a complaint....
