MUMBAI, Sept. 23 -- A 22-year-old delivery agent died after his two-wheeler was hit by a truck in Dindoshi on Monday. Following the accident, the Dindoshi police have detained the truck driver Mayur Gaikwad , 30. Gaikwad has been booked for speeding and causing death by negligence. According to the complainant, Rajesh Maurya, 43, a resident of Malad (east), the deceased, Govind Kushwaha, 22, was his cousin's son and had been living with him for a year. Maurya, who runs a business selling flower garlands, said Kushwaha worked as a delivery boy for an online grocery app and used his scooter to make deliveries. At 12:32pm on Monday, Maurya was informed that Kushwaha had met with an accident near the Khadpada-Ratnagiri Junction at Dindoshi. According to the police, a truck had allegedly hit the victim's two-wheeler, causing him to lose his balance and be hit by the moving truck. Following the crash, the youth sustained severe head injuries and was unconscious. Locals took the injured man to the Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari East.
