Tree saves woman who fell off from 10th floor
MUMBAI, Aug. 27 -- A 26-year-old woman, who on Wednesday morning fell from the tenth floor of Sunshine, an SRA building on Lake Road in Bhandup, had a miraculous escape when she landed on a tree instead of the ground. It is not yet clear whether the fall was an accident or an attempted suicide.
The woman, identified as Pratiksha Hiwrale, was found hanging about 20 to 25 feet above the ground. "Locals informed the fire brigade about the fall at around 9.32 am," said a police officer. "The branches of the tree in which she was stuck were chopped and she was rescued."
The BMC fire brigade rescued the woman using a hook ladder, after which she was taken to Agarwal Hospital in a private ambulance. According to hospital officials, the fall left her with an injury on her left leg, and she was subsequently shifted to LTMG Sion Hospital for surgery....
