New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed a journalist who exposed the alleged irregularities in donations received at Ayodhya Ram Temple to move an application challenging the order of the Uttar Pradesh police seeking his digital footprints from 'X' since June in connection with an August road rage case against him. Advocate Anoop Prakash Awasthi, appearing for journalist Abhishek Upadhyay, mentioned the matter before CJI Surya Kant, and said, "This court has already protected me. Why is the investigating officer seeking my digital footprints since June 1, 2026...It was in June I collected data to expose the theft at Ram Mandir. If that is disclosed, my source will be at the state's mercy." The CJI permitted him to file the application observing, "We will see. You file your application."abraham thomas...
