Pillion rider killed as Bike crashes into SUV in Chembur
MUMBAI, June 23 -- A 48-year-old man was killed after the motorbike on which he was travelling as a pillion rider crashed into an SUV in Chembur on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Anil Salve, a resident of Chembur, was returning home on the motorcycle when the accident occurred.
"The bike was being ridden rashly and negligently when it collided with an SUV approaching from the front," said Bhavesh Salve, the deceased's son.
According to the police, the bike, a Royal Enfield Bullet, belonged to Imran Khan, who had lent it to Raunak Singh, 26. Singh was riding the motorcycle with Salve riding pillion when the crash took place.
Police said Singh was riding speeding, resulting in the collision. A case has been registered under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita....
