Jaipur/New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the NEET-PG examination on Sunday even as it constituted a three-member committee to investigate the internal power supply failure that disrupted exam at two iON Digital Zone centres in Sitapura in Jaipur, Rajasthan, officials said. Exam coordinator Narendra Verma said around 2,400 candidates were taking the computer-based examination at both the centres. Candidates alleged that repeated power outages and technical glitches interrupted the test as many as 10 times within two hours. The examination was scheduled from 9am to 12.30pm. According to the candidates, the test could resume only around 10am after the initial disruption, but several computer systems continued to malfunction. Hundreds of candidates protested outside the centre after the examination. According to officials, the three-member panel will examine the circumstances leading to the power failure and ascertain the reasons for the disruption. "The committee will examine the matter and submit its report within the stipulated timeframe," a source said. The NEET-PG test was scheduled for 273,096 candidates at 1,111 examination centres across 339 cities, covering all 36 states and Union Territories. A total of 265,980 candidates appeared for the examination, with the examination successfully completed for approximately 263,535 candidates, the NBEMS said. The nationwide examination was supported by extensive real-time monitoring and stringent security measures.
