Mumbai, March 25 -- A massive fire broke out in a warehouse in Mira Road on Tuesday night, scorching balconies of over 25 nearby homes, triggering panic among residents and leading to explosions of two gas cylinders, officials said.
The blaze erupted around 9 pm in a caterer's warehouse located near Adda Hotel in the Pleasant Park area, according to fire brigade officials. Fuelled by plastic materials and textiles stored inside, the fire intensified rapidly and spread to an adjacent residential building. The intense heat and flames damaged multiple balconies, while several vehicles parked nearby were gutted. Firefighters from the municipal corporation rushed to the spot and were engaged in efforts to put off the blaze at the time of going to press.
