Mumbai, May 25 -- India cricket great Sunil Gavaskar is happy to see a trend in the Indian Premier League of opposition players freely mingle after a hard-fought game. It reminds him of the tradition during his Test-playing days, when players of both teams would spend time with each other at the close of play. "During the time that we played, there used to be a tradition. The team that was batting that day would carry a case of drinks to the other team's changing room," Gavaskar told reporters at the launch on Midwicket Stories here on Sunday. "And at the end of the day, giving about 20-odd minutes of time for everybody to cool down. You (would) do a post-mortem on the day's play as well. Out of the 16 players in your party, almost 10-12 would go into the other opposition room and sit next to each other," he added. "... there would also be talk about, (or) we would be asking them - if you are a tourist - which are the places to go to eat, which movies (to watch). "You see that in the IPL, at the end of the match both teams coming in and talking to each other. That, I think, this (is the) new tradition of people going and shaking hands and all that," the former India captain said. The first episode of the Midwicket Stories, which is being launched on YouTube, features Gavaskar and former Australia captain Allan Border. As for sledging in the game, the legendary batter said while all cricketers try to be the best role models, like all human beings they can fail the standards sometimes....
