City gets new police officers in major IPS rejig
Mumbai, May 22 -- The state government on Thursday announced a major reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the ranks of Special Inspector General (IGP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Superintendent of Police (SP), while revising and cancelling some transfer orders issued earlier.
Among the key Mumbai appointments, SS Burse was shifted to the State Intelligence Department (SID), Mumbai, while Shrikanth Paropkari was appointed Deputy Commissioner for Coastal Security under the SID. Vinita Sahu was posted as DIG with the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Mumbai, and R Raja was promoted and appointed Additional Commissioner of Police (wireless), Mumbai. Sharda Raut, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed in the Women Atrocities Prevention Department. Pramod Shewale has been shifted from the ATS, Pune, and appointed ACP (crime), Navi Mumbai....
