Champions Training Centre clinch hockey title with shootout win
Mumbai, March 30 -- Champions Training Centre were crowned winners of the BK Mohite Memorial Hockey Tournament after beating United Bandra Sports Club 5-3 in the penalty shootout. The two teams were locked 2-2 in regulation time.
Pratham Deshmukh (30th minute) and Aditya Kabre (40th) scored for Champions Training Centre, while Pranit Naik (16th) and Maurya SK (48th) convered penalty corners for United Bandra. Bombay Republicans beat Arctic Boys 2-0 in the third-place match.
Mohit Awasthi picked up 4/68 and Rahul Sawant chipped in with 3/66 as PJ Hindu Gymkhana bowled out Dr DY Patil Sports Academy for 257 to stay in the contest of the three-day Young Comrade Shield final.
At stumps on the second day, PJ Hindu Gymkhana, who were bowled out for 188 in the first innings, were 207/7 in the second innings.
For the DY Patil Sports Academy, Umar Khan scored a composted half-century, while Iqbal Abdullah picked up four wickets and will look to add more.
