BMC to resume water supply to pools as lake levels rise
Mumbai, Aug. 13 -- The city's swimming pools can get their water supply back, as the city's seven reservoirs now hold nearly 90% of their maximum stock. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to resume water supply to swimming pools after the steady rise in lake levels.
As of 6am on Wednesday, the usable water stock in the reservoirs stood at around 1,295,274 million litres (ML), against a maximum capacity of 1,447,363 ML.
This puts the city's water stock at 89.49% of its full supply level.
The decision is likely to bring relief to citizens who use municipal and other swimming facilities, following restrictions on water supply amid concerns over reservoir levels. htc...
