MUMBAI, Aug. 22 -- Two schoolboys drowned in a water tank in Aarey Colony on Friday morning after allegedly skipping school to swim there with a friend. The 13-and 15-year-olds were pulled out by fire brigade personnel and taken to HBT Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari, where they were declared dead. The deceased were identified as Zaib Patel, 15, and Nakhib Patel, 13, both students of Jogeshwari Gumfa English Medium Secondary School in Jogeshwari East. Zaib was in Class 10, while Nakhib was in Class 9. According to police, the three boys had gone to a water tank maintained by the Aarey Colony administration to supply water to cattle sheds. According to police, the deceased had skipped school and gone there to swim. However, they allegedly lost balance and drowned. Police said the third boy fled after Zaib and Nakhib drowned and went to the school, where he informed the authorities about the incident. Following this, the police were alerted at around 11.55am. School authorities, police personnel and the fire brigade reached the spot. Fire brigade personnel rescued the two boys from the tank and they were taken to HBT Trauma Care Hospital at around 1.50pm, where the doctors declared them dead on arrival....
