Youth participation in Sanskriti Sansad 2026 heartening: PM
VARANASI, Nov. 2 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings and congratulated the organisers of three-day Sanskriti Sansad (Culture Parliament) scheduled to be held in Varanasi from November 3 to 5.
Under the aegis of the Ganga Mahasabha, Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti is organising the sixth edition of the event in which seers and youths in large numbers from across the nation are likely to take part.
"It is a matter of great pleasure that the "Sanskriti Sansad 2026" is being held in Kashi. On this occasion, heartfelt congratulations to the Ganga Mahasabha and all those associated with this event," PM Modi wrote in a letter. "Kashi has been a major centre of India's spiritual consciousness and knowledge tradition for ages. It is the sacred city of Baba Kashi Vishwanath. Sarnath, the site of Lord Buddha's first sermon, is also located here. Besides being the birthplace of Jain Tirthankaras, Kashi also holds a special place in the spiritual pursuit of Adi Shankaracharya. Rich in diverse opinions and ideas, Kashi has always provided new direction to debate, dialogue, and contemplation," the letter read.
"Today, Kashi is moving towards new heights of development while preserving its heritage. The redevelopment of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the cleanliness of Maa Ganga and the beautification of the ghats, the preservation of the historical heritage of Sarnath, and efforts to connect Banarasi handicrafts with new opportunities are all part of this vision," the letter says. "This journey to Kashi sends the message of moving towards the future while remaining connected to one's roots. The organisation of the Culture Parliament is also in keeping with this spirit," the PM writes. "The significant participation of the youth in the event is also heartening. Today's young generation has both a sense of pride in their heritage and the confidence to embrace new ideas. I am confident that the Sanskriti Sansad 2026 will become an important platform for meaningful dialogue between our ancient knowledge tradition and the new ideas of youth power," the letter read....
