Youth killed during drunken altercation, friend detained
Meerut, May 25 -- A man was taken into custody in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old youth in Bulandshahr district on Sunday.
The youth was allegedly beaten to death by the accused, reportedly his friend, following a dispute while consuming liquor. The incident took place in Satwara-Khusroopur village under the jurisdiction of Ahmadgarh police station.
The victim, identified as Arvind Kumar, was found dead beneath a canal embankment on Saturday evening. According to police and family members, the accused Kapil, in his early 20s and a resident of the same village, allegedly crushed Arvind's face with a brick after an argument escalated during a liquor party.
Police officials said the dispute began with verbal abuse exchanged between the two youths while consuming alcohol. The altercation soon turned violent, resulting in the brutal killing.
After receiving information about the incident, local police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from beneath the canal structure. Senior police officials, including the superintendent of police, later visited the crime scene along with forensic experts to examine the area and collect evidence.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, accused Kapil has been taken into custody and is being interrogated by police.
ASP Antriksh Jain said swift action was taken in the case and forensic teams gathered crucial evidence from the scene. "We are probing all possible angles related to the murder, and further revelations are expected as the investigation progresses," he said....
