Youth killed, three seriously injured after Nilgai hits bike
PRAYAGRAJ, June 26 -- A tragic road accident claimed the life of a youth and left three others seriously injured after a motorcycle collided with a nilgai (blue bull) near Chilla Shahbaji village in the Charwa police station area of Kaushambi early on Thursday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Md Wasib (24) while Adnan Ali, Rehan, and Kaleem, all residents of Patti Parvejabad village under the Sandipan Ghat police station limits were injured.
The four youths had travelled to Chilla Shahbaji on Wednesday night to participate in Muharram observances. While returning home in the early hours of Thursday, their motorcycle reportedly collided with a nilgai that suddenly came onto the road near a gas agency in the village. The impact threw all four riders onto the road, leaving them severely injured.
Local residents rushed to the spot and informed emergency services. The injured were taken by ambulance to the medical college for treatment where doctors declared Md Wasib dead on arrival. The remaining three victims are undergoing treatment, with Rehan and Kaleem reported to be in critical condition.
Police reached the scene and sent the deceased's body for a post-mortem examination. Further legal proceedings are underway.
Police have intensified action in the triple murder case in Nibi Kukurkatwa village (Meja), registering a case under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act against four accused, including the alleged mastermind.
The prime accused, Himanshu Yadav, previously confessed to carrying out the killings due to a romantic relationship. The victims were Shyam Lal Gupta, 65, his wife Phoolkali Devi, 60, and his sister-in-law Indravati Devi, 60. Another family member, Amravati Devi, 55, was also attacked. The victims were struck with an iron rod and discovered in their courtyard on June 16, a day after the crime.
Police previously arrested Himanshu Yadav, his brother Ankit Yadav, Nihal Gautam, and village head Guddu. During the recovery of the murder weapon, an encounter occurred in which Himanshu sustained a leg injury. A minor accused was also held and sent to a juvenile correction home. DCP (Yamunanagar) Vivek Chandra Yadav stated that the Gangsters Act has been invoked to curb organised crime and ensure strict legal action....
