Yogi launches 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' programme
Lucknow, Sept. 18 -- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched the 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' programme at Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday as part of the BJP's month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The chief minister lit lamps at statues of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to start the campaign. He interacted with students present at the Prerna Sthal, shot video on a mobile phone and distributed chocolates. Wishing the PM on his birthday and praying for his healthy, long life, Adityanath also greeted people on Vishwakarma Puja, which was also celebrated on Thursday.
"Under the PM's leadership, the country is moving towards the vision of Viksit Bharat. On PM's birthday, crores of diyas are being lit across the country with positive feeling and energy," Yogi Adityanath said.
"Diyas are being lit at Rashtra Prerna Sthal and other important places in the state and at homes of beneficiaries of welfare schemes."
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal, MLCs Lalji Nirmal, Avinash Singh, MLA Neeraj Bora, the BJP's Mahanagar president Anand Dwivedi were present.
Under the Abhiyan, mega 'deep prajwalan' (large-scale lighting of lamps) was held at 10 prominent public places across Lucknow in the evening. Diyas were also lit at the homes of beneficiaries of welfare schemes. 3.5 lakh diyas light up Rashtra Prerna Sthal as 10,000 join LDA's 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' event....
