Yamanashi guv leads Japanesedelegation for investment meet
LUCKNOW, Aug. 19 -- Union Commerce and Industry minister Piyush Goyal and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday welcomed Yamanashi Prefecture governor Kotaro Nagasaki on his arrival in New Delhi for the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026.
Nagasaki is leading a delegation of more than 200 Japanese CEOs, business leaders and policymakers. The five-day programme, organised by Invest UP from August 19 to 23, will cover New Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Greater Noida and Varanasi.
The event's objective is to convert Japan's growing interest in Uttar Pradesh into tangible investments, technology partnerships, manufacturing projects and employment opportunities.
The main investment meet will be held in Lucknow on August 21, with discussions on manufacturing, automobiles, semiconductors, green energy, digital infrastructure, skill development and tourism.
Welcoming the Japanese delegation, Goyal highlighted the strong economic ties between India and Japan and the expanding opportunities for Japanese companies in India.
"Uttar Pradesh's improving infrastructure, skilled workforce and investment-friendly environment offer excellent opportunities for Japanese companies to expand globally," Goyal said. CM Yogi Adityanath, welcoming the delegation, said Uttar Pradesh is committed to long-term partnerships with Japanese investors.
"World-class infrastructure, skilled talent and investment-friendly policies provide a strong foundation for Japanese companies to invest, expand and create jobs in the state," the CM said.
Nagasaki said the visit will help strengthen economic and institutional ties between Yamanashi and Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized potential collaboration in areas such as clean energy, technology, skill development and tourism....
