Wrong-side driving check sparks scuffle with traffic cops; FIR filed
LUCKNOW, May 28 -- A routine drive against wrong-side driving near Lucknow airport turned chaotic after a scooter rider allegedly argued with traffic police and called nearly two dozen men to the spot, leading to a scuffle with traffic personnel, police said on Wednesday. According to police, the incident took place Monday (May 25) evening at the Amausi VIP turn when traffic sub-inspector Umesh Kumar and others were checking vehicles.
According to the FIR registered on Tuesday, a scooter (UP32QY3794) was approaching from the wrong side near Shaheed Path tri-junction. The rider allegedly ignored repeated signals to move into the correct lane. When the officer tried to photograph the scooter, the rider, identified as Muzammil, called associates who allegedly abused and pushed traffic personnel. An FIR was lodged....
