Dehradun, July 27 -- Writers and litterateurs have a crucial role in the holistic development of Uttarakhand, preservation of its rich cultural heritage and promotion of social consciousness, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Sunday while interacting with senior writers from across the state. He held an interaction with writers and litterateurs at Mukhya Sevak Sadan at the CM's Camp Office in Dehradun. The writers presented copies of their authored books to the chief minister, who met them individually, enquired about their well-being and discussed their literary contributions and ongoing writing projects. Dhami said writers served not only as a mirror to society but also as guides who helped steer it in the right direction. "Writers play a pivotal role in the holistic development of Uttarakhand, the preservation of its rich cultural heritage and the fostering of social consciousness," he said, adding that the state government was making continuous efforts to create a strong literary environment and encourage writers.
