World Milk Day drive launchedin uttar pradesh
Lucknow, June 2 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday launched a week-long 'World Milk Day Campaign' across the state, focusing on dairy development, cattle welfare and women's participation in dairy activities.
Chairing a review meeting here, state animal husbandry and dairy development minister Dharmapal Singh directed officials to organise awareness programmes in all gaushalas and honour outstanding women dairy farmers during the campaign.
The minister said the initiative aimed to encourage more women to join dairy-related activities and become financially self-reliant.
He emphasised the need to promote indigenous cow rearing and highlighted that beneficiaries adopting four stray cattle under the Chief Minister Participation Scheme would receive financial assistance of up to Rs 72,000 in four instalments.
He also directed officials to ensure cleanliness in gaushalas, adequate fodder and drinking water for cattle, plantation drives, and effective vaccination programmes through micro-planning. htc...
