VARANASI, Sept. 19 -- Minister for labour and employment coordination Anil Rajbhar on Friday distributed Scootys to eight meritorious women students from workers' families, bicycles to 76 workers, sewing machines to 76 women workers, and toolkits for various trades to 376 workers in a programme dedicated to the welfare of workers on Friday. The programme was organised at the camp office in Dadupur (Shivpur Assembly constituency) as part of the "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan" (Service Pledge Campaign), which is being held from September 17 to October 17 to mark the birthday of Prime Minister and Kashi MP Narendra Modi. Addressing the gathering, Rajbhar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously working towards realising the resolve for the welfare of the poor while discharging his duties. He noted that under the Prime Minister's leadership, a pledge has been taken to transform the country into a developed nation, and the government is working with full commitment in this direction. He emphasised that the "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan," organised on the occasion of the PM's birthday, is not merely an event but a means to reach out to the needy, serve them, and connect them with the government's welfare schemes. During the campaign, efforts are being made to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of various schemes and that government programmes reach even the person standing on the last rung of the social ladder. The minister remarked that workers constitute a vital link in the economy of society. The government is implementing various schemes for the welfare of workers, the education of their children, the empowerment of women, and the provision of employment-oriented resources to the workforce. He emphasised that providing Scootys to meritorious women students from workers' families would facilitate their education and commute, while sewing machines distributed to women workers would create opportunities for self-employment. Additionally, the provision of toolkits for various trades would enable workers to perform their traditional and technical tasks more effectively, and the distribution of bicycles would make commuting easier for them....
