Women perform stunt through car sunroof, police issue challan
LUCKNOW, June 17 -- A video showing two women performing a risky stunt by sticking out of a moving car's sunroof in Lucknow has gone viral on social media, prompting action by the traffic police.
The 15-second clip, widely shared online, shows two women emerging from the sunroof of a moving vehicle with more than half of their bodies outside the car while waving their hands. The car appears to be moving at a considerable speed as the women strike poses for the camera.
The video was reportedly filmed by another road user and is said to have been shot near Tile Wali Masjid in the old city area of Lucknow. The exact date of the incident, however, could not be independently verified.
The stunt sparked concern among social media users, many of whom pointed out the potential danger to both the occupants of the vehicle and other road users. Traffic experts have repeatedly warned that standing through a sunroof while a vehicle is in motion can lead to serious injuries in the event of sudden braking, collision, or loss of balance.
Taking cognisance of the viral video, the Lucknow Traffic Police initiated action against the vehicle owner. Sharing details on social media, the police said that a challan had been issued under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act for violating traffic safety norms....
