PRAYAGRAJ, May 21 -- A 42-year-old labourer allegedly died after his wife attacked him with a rock following a domestic dispute in Pabhosa village under the Paschim Sharira police station area of Kaushambi district. Police have arrested the accused and registered a case in connection with the incident. According to police, Pappu Kevat was allegedly addicted to alcohol and frequently quarrelled with his wife, Gudiya Devi. On the night of May 18, he reportedly returned home drunk and got into an argument with her, which soon turned violent. During the altercation, Gudiya allegedly struck Pappu multiple times with a rock, causing serious head and body injuries. Locals claimed the couple again argued on Tuesday night, worsening his condition. Neighbours said the injured man remained inside the house, groaning in pain throughout the night. On Wednesday morning, Pappu's father and nephew took him to a private hospital in Paschim Sharira, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later sent for postmortem examination.
