Haldwani, Aug. 17 -- A 54-year-old woman was crushed to death after a hydraulic crane struck her in Kashipur town of Udham Singh Nagar district on Sunday morning while she was on her way to a temple, police said. The incident took place in Tanda Ujjain locality. A police team rushed to the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The operator of the hydraulic crane fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police have seized and impounded the vehicle and launched a search to trace the driver. According to Kashipur Circle Officer Prashant Kumar, police were informed by locals that a hydraulic crane had run over a woman in Tanda Ujjain. The deceased was identified as Ramdulari Yadav, 54, a resident of Tanda Ujjain, police said.
