Woman booked for using forged papers to claim lecturer interview
LUCKNOW, June 18 -- The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) on Wednesday lodged an FIR and handed over a woman candidate to police for allegedly attempting to secure an interview for the post of lecturer in chemistry using forged documents.
According to UPESSC officials, interviews for candidates who qualified the written examination for lecturer posts are being conducted in two shifts from June 15 to 27. The woman appeared at the commission office and allegedly claimed that she had cleared the chemistry examination but was unable to download her interview call letter.
On verification, officials found that she had not qualified the written test. Further scrutiny revealed that she had allegedly tampered with the admit card issued by the commission and inserted the roll number of another candidate who had successfully cleared the lecturer (chemistry) examination to stake a false claim for the interview.
The commission said the use of forged documents was an attempt to compromise the confidentiality, transparency and integrity of the recruitment process. An FIR was registered under relevant sections and the candidate was handed over to local police.
Warning candidates against resorting to unfair means, the commission said strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in such activities under the UP Public Examination Act, 2024, and reiterated its commitment to conducting examinations and interviews in a transparent and fair manner....
