Woman booked for allegedly rammingcar into scooter
LUCKNOW, July 14 -- A 27-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after another woman allegedly rammed her car into the scooter she was riding following a brief argument at Samta Mulak Chauraha in Gomti Nagar on Sunday evening, police said on Monday.
Gomti Nagar station house officer Brajesh Chandra Tiwari said police had begun an investigation based on the complaint.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim's mother, Babita Singh, her daughter Naina Singh was riding an scooter with a friend towards Samta Mulak Chauraha when they had an altercation with a woman driving a car.
The complainant alleged that during the argument, the car driver abused the two women and threatened them, saying they would "see what happens next." As Naina rode ahead, the accused allegedly chased the scooter from behind, hit it with her car and drove over it.
The complaint states that Naina was trapped beneath the vehicle after the impact while the scooter got lodged under one of the car's wheels. Bystanders rushed to the spot, removed the car and rescued her and also made a video which went viral on social media.
The complainant further alleged that the woman driving the car continued abusing them even after the incident.
Naina was taken to St Joseph Hospital, where doctors found that her left leg had suffered fractures at two places. She also sustained multiple other injuries and is undergoing treatment.
The victim's family has alleged that the woman behind the wheel was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and that liquor bottles were found inside the car.
Police have not confirmed these allegations....
