AGRA, Aug. 10 -- A woman allegedly killed her 42-year-old husband in Mathura and disposed of his body with the help of her minor daughter and the daughter's boyfriend, police said. The man (now deceased) was reportedly opposed to his daughter's relationship with the boy. The incident took place in April, but the body has not yet been recovered. Police suspect the accused may have burnt the body to destroy evidence. According to Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar, Naina Soni, 40, and her daughter's boyfriend, Vimal Chaudhary, a delivery boy, were sent to judicial custody on Saturday. The 16-year-old minor daughter, the third accused, was sent to a juvenile home, he said. According to police, Ram Babu of Mathura district lodged a missing complaint at Govind Nagar police station after his brother, Manoj Soni, went missing on April 18. Meanwhile, his family members grew suspicious of his wife and daughter. The complainant suspected foul play after finding that his brother's wife had locked the house and left the area following Manoj's disappearance. She returned after some time but allegedly failed to provide satisfactory information about his whereabouts, the complainant alleged. They subsequently lodged another complaint for abduction with intent to kill, at Govind Nagar police station. Police launched an investigation and found that Manoj's daughter was in a relationship with Vimal Chaudhary despite her father's opposition. Police said Manoj allegedly assaulted his daughter and wife over the issue. Investigators suspect the dispute led to his killing. Naina, Manoj's wife, allegedly told police during questioning that on April 18, they mixed a sedative in his milk and, after he fell asleep, killed him by repeatedly striking him with an iron pestle. Police said the daughter and Vimal then allegedly wrapped the body in a blanket, transported it on a scooter to a forest near Akrur village along the Yamuna, and burnt it before burying the remains near the river. "Police investigation is still underway as we need to ascertain what the accused did with the body. Although we suspect that it was likely burnt by the accused, we have not called off the search operation," Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar said. However, the rising water level in the Yamuna made it difficult for police to recover the remains, officials said.
