AGRA, Aug. 15 -- A woman and her paramour were sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering her husband in Aligarh a year ago. Eight witnesses were examined during the trial, but the most crucial testimony came from the woman's minor son, whose statement helped establish the guilt of the two accused. The judgment was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge (Court No. 2), Aligarh, Tosh Kumar Sharma, in Sessions Trial No. 3410 of 2025 against the accused, Manoj and Beena. The case stemmed from an FIR registered at Barla police station in July 2025 under Sections 103(1), 109(1) and 3(5) of the BNS, along with provisions of the Arms Act. The complainant, brother of the deceased Suresh, told police on July 10, 2025, that accused Manoj arrived at their house and allegedly shot Suresh after being instigated by Beena, Suresh's wife. Manoj also allegedly fired at the complainant, but he escaped unhurt as the bullet missed him. The court sentenced Beena and her paramour Manoj to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.35,000 each, said government counsel JP Rajput.
