West Bengal law and order alarming: Pathak
PRAYAGRAJ, May 8 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak termed the brutal murder of Chandranath Rath, personal secretary to Suvendu Adhikari, as deeply tragic, and said the law-and-order situation in West Bengal is extremely alarming and distressing.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Pathak said the situation in West Bengal would improve significantly once a BJP government comes to power in the state. He made the remarks while visiting the residence of former Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi to offer condolences following the death of her husband, PC Joshi.
Reacting to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's statement that she would not resign, Pathak said governance must function strictly in accordance with the Constitution framed by Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Responding to Akhilesh Yadav's allegations regarding rising crime in Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak said that whenever the Samajwadi Party has been in power, criminals have allegedly dominated the system.
Commenting on Akhilesh Yadav's visit to West Bengal, he said it was entirely his personal decision. Pathak further claimed that in both West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, members of the INDIA alliance are being systematically removed from the political and administrative landscape.
Expressing confidence in the BJP's electoral prospects, Brajesh Pathak said the party would return to power in Uttar Pradesh with an overwhelming majority in the 2027 Assembly elections.
During his visit to Rita Bahuguna Joshi's residence, Pathak paid floral tributes before the photograph of the late PC Joshi and expressed condolences to the bereaved family....
