VARANASI, Aug. 25 -- Expressing confidence that the BJP leaders and workers would work 100 times more, newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secretary and co-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, Jagdish Patel, said on Monday that the party will win more seats in the upcoming assembly election than the last one. Buoyed by a grand welcome on his maiden visit to Varanasi from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport after assuming the role of co-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, Patel said, "We will win far more seats in the state than we did last time." Referring to preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, Patel stated that election preparations are underway in the state and expressed confidence that he would continue to receive the full support of party workers, like in the past. Highlighting the development work in Kashi, Patel noted that an assessment of the last 12-13 years reveals that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned development projects worth over Rs.70,000 crore for the city. He emphasised the need to fulfill one's obligations regarding the benefits received by the workers and the public. He said, "While discharging our duties, we must deliver returns one-and-a-half to two times greater than what we have received; only then can we truly be called 'god-like' (dev-tulya) workers."...
