VARANASI, Aug. 1 -- A new state-of-the-art museum dedicated to the life and teachings of Sant Ravidas is taking shape at his birthplace in Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi, said officials on Friday. The project, aimed at preserving the spiritual legacy of the revered saint, is expected to be completed by February 2027. The G+1 structure, spanning 1,645 square metres, is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs.23.73 crore. The facility is designed to introduce future generations to the philosophy, literature and contributions of Sant Ravidas to the Bhakti Movement, utilising advanced digital projections, graphics and audio-visual technology. Manvendra Singh, project manager at UP Projects Corporation Limited (Varanasi), noted that the museum will feature five modern galleries dedicated to chronicling the saint's birth, spiritual journey, domestic life, and social contributions. "The museum will present Sant Ravidas's life and teachings in an engaging manner through digital images and films, allowing tourists and devotees to gain deeper insight into his message of social harmony, equality and humanity," Singh said. Beyond the exhibition galleries, the complex will offer various public amenities, including administrative offices, a souvenir shop, seating areas for visitors and a cafeteria.
