VARANASI, March 29 -- District magistrate Satyendra Kumar on Saturday directed that honorariums of the Ayushman Cell personnel will not be disbursed until all Ayushman cards of eligible people in the district have been made. Chairing a meeting of the District Health Committee at the Collectorate Auditorium, Kumar conducted a detailed review of the generation of Ayushman cards-being created through a special campaign under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-as well as various other programmes being implemented under the National Health Mission. Finding the progress of the last 10 days of making Ayushman cards in the district to be unsatisfactory, the district magistrate reprimanded the medical officers-in-charge (MO) of the Badagaon, Pindra, and Harahua Health Centres. He directed that show-cause notices be issued to them. He ordered withholding the salaries of personnel working in the Ayushman Cell, as well as the medical officer-in-charge of Badagaon.
