LUCKNOW, Oct. 4 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Saturday declared the final selection result for the 2025 home guard recruitment drive, with 41,424 candidates selected against vacancies across all 75 districts of the state. As many as 25.32 lakh candidates had applied for the posts. The final district-wise lists have been uploaded on the board's website, officials said in a press release. Of the 41,424 selected candidates, 21,580 are from the OBC category, 10,932 from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, 410 from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category and 8,502 from the unreserved category, including 6,950 candidates from the economically weaker section (EWS), according to the board. The selection includes 8,290 women. The recruitment process began with the notification issued on November 18, 2025. A total of 25,32,196 candidates submitted online applications for the 41,424 vacancies. The board declared the final answer key on June 25, 2026, after inviting objections to the provisional answer keys and obtaining opinions from multiple panels of subject experts. Based on written examination scores and district-wise vacancies, 1,07,221 candidates were called between July 13 and August 7 for document verification and physical standard testing. Of these, 94,169 candidates cleared the two stages. The physical efficiency test was subsequently conducted from September 15 to 26, with 79,186 candidates qualifying. The board said RFID technology was used to record candidates' running times during the physical efficiency test. Extensive CCTV coverage was also provided at written examination centres, document verification and physical standard testing centres and physical efficiency test venues. Live feeds were monitored in real time through control rooms at the district and board levels. The final merit list was prepared on the basis of candidates' normalised written examination scores, marks awarded for documented preferential qualifications submitted with their applications and the applicable reservation policy of the state government....
