UP unleashing unlimited potential with progress, speed, says Adityanath
Lucknow, Oct. 27 -- Setting a target of establishing more than 500 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) by 2030-31 and projecting the state as a land of "unlimited potential," chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said Uttar Pradesh, with its pace of progress and development, is now answering those who once questioned what UP meant.
He was addressing the GCC Innovation Summit 2026 in Lucknow. Ten years ago, a GCC summit in Lucknow was unimaginable, he said.
The summit, organised by IIT Kanpur Alumni Association in collaboration with Invest UP and HCLTech, saw 15 industry MoUs with GCC firms and talent partners, five Letters of Comfort (LoCs) issued to prospective investors, and 13 MoUs with leading academic institutions to build an industry-ready talent pipeline.
Recalling the situation in 2015-16, he said an investor summit was planned in UP but not a single industry leader was ready to come to Lucknow citing its dangerous image, and the summit had to be held in a five-star hotel in Delhi.
He also spoke about UP's IT policy expansion, Centres of Excellence in AI, machine learning, cloud computing, 3D printing, robotics, data analytics, cyber security, IoT, drone tech and green hydrogen to make youth industry-ready and future-tech-ready.
Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, minister of state Jaswant Singh Saini, IIDC Deepak Kumar, IIT Kanpur director Prof Manindra Agrawal and industry leaders were present.htc...
