UP Sanskrit Board Class 12 topper's credentials cancelled over fraud allegations
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad has cancelled the academic credentials of Rajnish Yadav, the topper of the state's Sanskrit Board Class 12 examination, after a departmental inquiry found irregularities in his educational records and personal details. As per reports, Rajnish Yadav, a resident of Baijalpur village in the Aspur Devsara area of Pratapgarh district, secured the top position in the Uttar Madhyama (Class 12 equivalent) examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Board. For his achievement, the state government awarded him a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a tablet, a medal and a merit certificate.
However, the award came under scrutiny following a complaint filed by his neighbour, Jagat Prasad. The complaint alleged that Yadav secured admission and appeared in the examinations using forged academic records. It also raised questions regarding discrepancies in his name and date of birth. Subsequent investigations reportedly revealed irregularities in Yadav's previous academic documents. Following the findings, a fraud case was registered and the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad initiated a departmental inquiry.
After examining the matter, the inquiry confirmed the allegations against Yadav. Acting on the findings, Parishad Director Pratap Singh Baghel ordered the cancellation of Yadav's Purva Madhyama and Uttar Madhyama educational records and certificates. The board also directed authorities to recover all benefits extended to him on account of his topper status. These include the merit certificate, medal, tablet and the Rs 1 lakh cash award. Officials ordered that the cash prize be recovered as arrears of government dues, in the same manner as land revenue is collected....
