UP polytechnics ink pact with ASE to be industry-ready
LUCKNOW, July 22 -- To strengthen technical education, skill development and employment opportunities, the Technical Education Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adani Skills and Education (ASE) in Lucknow on Tuesday in the presence of technical education minister Ashish Patel.
The partnership aims to transform polytechnic institutes in the state into 'industry-ready talent hubs' that meet industrial requirements and directly connect trained youth with employment, a spokesperson said.
The initiative will focus on providing local youth with employment opportunities in industries within their own regions, reducing the need to migrate in search of jobs. It will also help industries access locally trained human resources and improve productivity.
Under the agreement, training programmes will be jointly developed based on industrial requirements. Adani skills and education will work with the department and institutes to design curricula focused on practical and technical skills. These courses will be linked to academic credits after approval from the department. Students who complete the training will receive certificates carrying the joint branding of the institute and Adani Skills.
Under the 'Skill-to-Employment' model, students will get direct information about the hiring requirements of relevant business units. This will allow them to apply for jobs immediately after completing their training.
A 'Train the Trainer' programme will also be introduced to provide principals and instructors with training in modern teaching methods and leadership. Support will also be provided to set up modern laboratories and ensure the availability of equipment in selected institutes.
Students will also get opportunities for mentoring, project-based learning, workshops, on-the-job training, apprenticeships and internships to help them connect with industry.
A key feature of the partnership will be the 'Work-Study-Diploma' programme. Under this initiative, students will gain work experience in industrial units while continuing their studies....
