UP paddlers shine in UTT Para Senior Championship
LUCKNOW, March 7 -- As many as three paddlers from Uttar Pradesh made their presence felt in a big way at the recently held UTT Para Senior Table Tennis National Championship at Indore, winning a gold and two bronze medals.
Leading from the front was Moradabad's Kunal Arora, who won a gold and a bronze medal and achieved the No 1 ranking in India. After winning these two medals, Kunal Arora's total number of medals has reached 35, which includes national and international medals.
In the final, Kunak defeated Ajay GV of Karnataka 3-1. This was followed by a bronze medal win in the men's doubles. While pairing up with Hitesh Dolwani of Telangana, he lost to the duo of Nitish and Satish 2-3 to finish third. Besides Kunal, the duo of Navneet Kadian and Harshvardhan Mani Dixit delivered an impressive performance in the men's doubles (MD-4) category and won the bronze medal, losing to the duo of Alphesh B Sutariya/ Madhu Ram 3-11, 5-11, 7-11. The championship featured highly competitive matches with top para athletes participating from across the country.
