KANPUR, July 16 -- A 27-year-old man has been arrested for raping a three-year-old girl on a moving roadways bus in Uttar Pradesh's Chitrakoot district, police said on Wednesday. Chitrakoot SP Arun Kumar Singh said, "The girl's medical examination has confirmed sexual assault. The accused, a resident of Manikpur, was arrested late Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday." He added, "The woman and her daughter were travelling from Prayagraj to their village when the accused made the girl sit in his lap under the pretext of feeding her and allegedly raped her. The mother alerted the bus conductor when she noticed her daughter in distress and bleeding from her private parts.
