UP-made missiles made Pak cry for help during Op Sindoor: Yogi
Jhansi, June 21 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday praised India's growing global stature under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and said indigenously developed BrahMos Missiles had taught Pakistan a "befitting lesson" during Operation Sindoor.
Addressing a public event in Lalitpur, Adityanath claimed the missiles, manufactured in Uttar Pradesh, "forced Pakistan to cry for help and beg to save itself."
The chief minister was speaking after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 221 development projects worth Rs 1,766 crore. He also announced that Uttar Pradesh's first pharma park would be established in Lalitpur.
"All preparations have been made for the state's first pharma park," he said.
"The BrahMos missiles are being made in Uttar Pradesh. When these missiles were used during Operation Sindoor, they gave such a crushing blow to Pakistan that it was forced to cry for help and beg to save itself. This is the strength of new India, and it is powered by Prime Minister Modi's leadership," Adityanath said.
He added that Uttar Pradesh, particularly the Bundelkhand region, had witnessed significant development under Modi's leadership. Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party (SP), he claimed previous governments had neglected Lalitpur and lacked a vision for development.
"Today we are inaugurating and laying foundation stones for projects worth more than Rs 1,500 crore here. The Samajwadi Party was in power four times. Across all those terms combined, it would not have allocated Rs 1,500 crore to Lalitpur. The Congress ruled for five decades, yet it too probably failed to provide that amount because it lacked a vision for development," he said.
Targeting the Opposition further, Adityanath said, "For the Samajwadi Party, Saifai was the family. They could not look beyond Saifai. For the Congress, one family in Delhi was the nation itself. They, too, could not look beyond it." He also accused the SP of patronising organised crime.
"They gave one mafia to every district, and those mafias acted as their henchmen. They indulged in illegal extortion, looted the hard-earned money of the people, carried out illegal mining and tree felling, engaged in cattle smuggling and turned Uttar Pradesh into a BIMARU (sick) state. They forced the youth of Bundelkhand to migrate, harassed women and deprived young people of employment opportunities," he alleged.
The chief minister also praised Jhansi-Lalitpur MP Anurag Sharma and his company, Baidyanath, for promoting innovation in the Ayurvedic sector. He announced that the state government would establish an Ayush Pharma Park, similar to the proposed Pharma Park, to encourage research, manufacturing and investment in Ayurvedic medicines.
He also commended Mahroni MLA and state minister Mannu Kori for his dedication to public service.
Addressing BJP workers during a Viksit Bharat Sankalp programme, he hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for transforming India into one of the world's five largest economies.
He also cited improvements in healthcare infrastructure, noting that the Jhansi division now has medical colleges in Jhansi, Jalaun and Lalitpur.
Earlier in the day, Adityanath visited the revered Maa Baglamukhi Temple at Pitambara Peeth in Datia, Madhya Pradesh before travelling to Lalitpur.
