UP legislative council chairman calls for single electoral roll
VARANASI, March 15 -- Kunwar Manvendra Singh, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, stated that the SIR process is based on the principle proposed by Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar: "One Person, One Vote, One Value."
According to a press communique, the second and final session of a two-day seminar on "The Statutory Utility of SIR" (Special Intensive Revision) was held on Saturday, presided over by Kunwar Manvendra Singh.
He emphasised that the process plays a pivotal role in upholding public confidence in the democratic framework by identifying and removing bogus and duplicate entries from the voter rolls, ensuring meticulous scrutiny.
He also noted that the SIR process aligns with the Election Commission's motto: "No Voter Left Behind."...
