UP launches Divyangjan Rozgar Abhiyan 3.0; job fairs across state till Aug 10
LUCKNOW, Aug. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) on Sunday launched Divyangjan Rozgar Abhiyan 3.0, a state-wide employment campaign for persons with disabilities that will run until August 10. Special job fairs will be held at all government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and across all districts, a spokesperson said.
Kapil Dev Agarwal, minister of state (independent charge) for vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship, said the campaign aims to help persons with disabilities join the mainstream by providing skills, employment opportunities and support for self-employment through loans and entrepreneurship schemes. He said major private companies will participate in the job fairs. Mission director Pulkit Khare said the campaign is open to trained and other eligible candidates with disabilities. Beneficiaries of the first two phases will also undergo physical verification to ensure they remain sustainably employed. The campaign also provides information on entrepreneurship and self-employment schemes to promote self-reliance....
