Lucknow, Aug. 30 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has approved funds for constructing Chief Minister Model Composite Schools in Ghazipur, Jhansi, Sonbhadra, Banda, Hapur and Hamirpur districts, according to orders issued by the basic education department. For Ghazipur, the government approved an expenditure of Rs.23.47 crore, including GST, for a Chief Minister Model Composite School proposed at Saidpur in Mau-dha gram panchayat. The school will cater to students from the pre-primary level to class 12. The approved project cost is Rs.2,347.18 lakh. Of this, 50%, or Rs.1,173.59 lakh, has been sanctioned as the first instalment. The construction work will be undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Projects Corporation Ltd. In Banda, the government approved Rs.24.79 crore, including 18% GST, for constructing a Chief Minister Model Composite School-First in Sindhankalan village of Jasapura development block. The government sanctioned Rs.12.3951 crore, or 50% of the approved project cost, as the first instalment for the Banda project. The Uttar Pradesh Projects Corporation Ltd will execute the construction work. The government orders direct that the projects must follow prescribed standards and quality norms and be completed within the stipulated timeframe. The sanctioned funds must be used only for the specified works. No major changes, including adding new works or increasing the size or specifications, can be made without prior approval from the competent authority. The expenditure for the projects will be booked during the 2026-27 financial year and the budget head earmarked for infrastructure development and major construction works in primary and upper-primary schools run by the Basic Education Council.
