UP government reinstates IASofficer Abhishek Prakash
LUCKNOW, March 15 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has reinstated 2006 batch IAS officer Abhishek Prakash nearly a year after he was placed under suspension in connection with a complaint related to an investment project.
An official order issued by section 5 of Appointment Department on March 14 stated that the suspension of Abhishek Prakash, a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service cadre in Uttar Pradesh, will be treated as valid up to March 14, 2026. The state government has ordered that he be reinstated with effect from March 15, 2026.
The order noted that the departmental proceedings initiated against the officer under the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969 will continue even after his reinstatement. Prakash, who was serving as secretary in the infrastructure and industrial development department of the state government and chief executive officer of Invest UP at the time, was suspended on March 20, 2025. The action followed a complaint submitted by Vishwajit Dutta of Ferozepur, Punjab, and related documents received through the Invest UP file records.
Based on the complaint, the state government had initiated departmental proceedings against the officer under Rule 8 of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, and placed him under suspension under Rule 3 of the same rules pending inquiry.
As per the latest order issued with the governor's approval, the suspension has now been formally revoked . However, the inquiry into the allegations will remain in force....
